ASRY has introduced an underway replenishment (UnRep) service in partnership with Fairwaters, described as a global first and part of the yard’s push into advanced maritime technologies.

The service enables fuel and cargo transfers while vessels remain underway, helping operators keep schedules without stopping and reducing delays and operating costs.
Chief executive Dr Ahmed Al Abri said the project strengthens ASRY’s role as a provider of integrated maritime services and supports performance improvements across naval and commercial fleets.
Project lead Abdel Maksoud Basyouni called UnRep a transformative shift in logistics support, noting that while developed for naval use it is proving effective in commercial shipping, improving route flexibility and reliability.
ASRY frames UnRep as a strategic evolution that demands precision, coordination and specialist infrastructure, reflecting a wider move toward smarter, more sustainable solutions across the region and beyond.
