HENSOLDT South Africa announced that its GEW business unit has signed a landmark contract with SAMI Advanced Electronics Company (SAMI-AEC), marking one of the largest projects in GEW’s history.

The multi-year programme will deliver a modern electronic warfare (EW) capability in Saudi Arabia to support civil and military operations aligning with the Kingdom’s Saudi Vision 2030 objectives. The scope includes state-of-the-art communications intelligence (COMINT) technologies integrated into Saudi Arabia’s C4I systems supported by comprehensive training programmes. These advanced sensors will enable early threat detection and countermeasures enhancing the safety of communities and critical infrastructure.
The contract reinforces the longstanding industrial partnership between HENSOLDT South Africa and SAMI-AEC with HENSOLDT Middle East providing on-ground technical support. Wholly owned by HENSOLDT South Africa, HENSOLDT Middle East has been strategically developed to serve the local market while driving knowledge transfer, technology development and skills enhancement in the region.
