In its continued drive to enhance operational effectiveness and strengthen strategic partnerships, the Nigerian Air Force (NAF) has dispatched a delegation of three senior officers led by Air Commodore A.H. Idris, Director of Training, to the International Test Pilot School (ITPS) in Canada.
The visit reflects the commitment of the Chief of the Air Staff, Air Marshal Hasan Bala Abubakar, to delivering effective and smarter airpower in counterinsurgency operations through global collaboration, advanced training and continuous technological innovation.
The engagement provided a platform to explore opportunities for cooperation between the NAF and ITPS in critical areas of aircrew and technical capacity development. Discussions focused on basic flying training, maintenance personnel training and engine and airframe overhauls. The delegation also examined possibilities for cockpit upgrades to enhance efficiency, mission readiness and operational safety across NAF platforms.
During the visit, the team held several productive meetings and toured the training, maintenance and administrative departments of ITPS to gain first-hand insights into the institution’s advanced methodologies and technical standards.
The visit underscores the NAF’s proactive pursuit of strategic collaborations that support the Chief of the Air Staff’s command philosophy — transforming the Service into an agile, technology-driven force capable of safeguarding lives and property across Nigeria.
