“Stinger is the surface-to-air missile of choice for 24 countries, including Germany and nine other NATO members,” said Tom Laliberty, president of Land & Air Defense Systems at Raytheon. “We are seeing historically high demand for Stinger because of its unrivaled effectiveness against short-range threats.”
The Stinger is a lightweight, self-contained and combat-proven air defense system used by ground forces against aircraft and cruise missiles.
“For Diehl Defence, relaunching Stinger production builds on our capabilities and reinforces our position in the ground-based air defense market,” said Helmut Rauch, Diehl Defence CEO. The company is evaluating ways to increase production capacity across current facilities and potential new sites.
Raytheon continues to modernize the system with advanced guidance and control upgrades, ensuring operators retain a decisive edge in evolving threat environments.
