The South African Air Force is set to host its first-ever Technology Show at Air Force Base Overberg in the Western Cape on Saturday 21 March marking a significant step in strengthening community engagement and inspiring the next generation of aviation and technology professionals.
The event will highlight a wide range of innovations across aerospace and aviation, artificial intelligence, robotics, unmanned aerial vehicles and advanced simulation technologies. It forms part of broader national efforts to promote youth development with a strong focus on encouraging interest in science, technology, engineering and mathematics.
Attendees including community stakeholders, learners, students and industry partners will have the opportunity to explore cutting-edge defence and aerospace capabilities. The show also aims to provide valuable insight into the critical role the South African Air Force plays in protecting national airspace and supporting security operations.
A selection of operational aircraft will be on display including the BAE Systems Hawk, Super Lynx 300, Agusta A109LUH, Denel Rooivalk and the Pilatus PC-7 Mk II alongside a variety of unmanned aerial systems.
The Technology Show is expected to become a key platform for showcasing innovation within the defence sector while inspiring young South Africans to pursue careers in aviation and high-tech industries.
