Lieutenant General Joseph Eno Seelo, Deputy Commander of the Botswana Defence Force (BDF), hosted Colonel Patrick Aronsson, Swedish Defence Attaché to Botswana, for a courtesy visit at BDF Headquarters, Sir Seretse Khama Barracks in Mogoditshane.
The visit provided a platform for meaningful discussions on strengthening military-to-military cooperation and exploring collaborative initiatives in training, technology development and research as well as jointly addressing emerging security challenges. General Seelo expressed gratitude for the longstanding partnership with the Swedish Armed Forces and highlighted the potential for broader engagement beyond traditional defence industry exchanges.
Colonel Aronsson described the visit as both informative and professionally rewarding. Senior BDF leadership including Ground Forces Commander Major General Simon Motswana Barwabatsile and several brigadiers attended the discussions, emphasizing Botswana’s continued commitment to fostering strong international defence partnerships.
