Members of the South African National Defence Force (SANDF) deployed under Operation Corona in the Free State continue to demonstrate their commitment to protecting communities. In a recent coordinated operation, soldiers from 10 SAI Bravo Company, Platoon 1, Charlie Section, led by Lieutenant A.L. Tladi, joined forces with members of the South African Police Service (SAPS) Tseseng, under the leadership of Lieutenant Colonel D.E. Mohomane, to conduct security operations in the QwaQwa Area of Responsibility.
The operation produced significant results, with several suspects arrested for a range of alleged illegal activities. A 43-year-old man was apprehended for possession of an unlicensed firearm, while other individuals were found with dangerous weapons. Another suspect was discovered wearing an SANDF uniform without lawful authority, highlighting the importance of vigilance and enforcement in maintaining security.
This operation underscores the critical value of collaboration within the security cluster. By combining resources, expertise and disciplined teamwork, SANDF and SAPS personnel reinforced their shared responsibility of maintaining law and order and promoting safer, more secure communities. The success of these operations demonstrates the effectiveness of coordinated efforts and the strategic importance of military and police partnerships in addressing crime and threats to public safety.
The professionalism, integrity and dedication of SANDF and SAPS personnel remain central to the protection of South African citizens. Their continued vigilance strengthens public trust and reassures communities that security forces are actively working to prevent crime and maintain stability.
As Operation Corona continues across the Free State, joint initiatives such as this exemplify the SANDF’s commitment to public safety and its role in supporting law enforcement efforts, while ensuring that communities remain safe and resilient.
