“It is an honor for Embraer to see another Latin American country choose the A-29 Super Tucano to enhance its surveillance, reconnaissance and protection capabilities,” said Bosco da Costa Junior, President and CEO of Embraer Defense & Security. “Panama’s choice of the Super Tucano, a world leader in its category, will serve as a strong ally in the country’s mission to maintain national sovereignty.”
Panama becomes the eighth Latin American nation to select the Super Tucano, joining Brazil, Chile, Colombia, Ecuador, Paraguay, Uruguay and the Dominican Republic. Globally, 22 air forces have adopted the Super Tucano, which has amassed over 600,000 flight hours. Its combination of reliability, low operating costs, robustness and operational flexibility continues to attract interest from other nations.
The A-29 Super Tucano is designed for a wide range of missions, including air patrol, special operations, ISR, border surveillance, control of illicit activities, reconnaissance, air escort and pilot training—from basic to advanced levels. Its proven versatility and cost-effective operation make it a trusted choice for air forces seeking a comprehensive single-platform solution.
