Indonesia has received its first KHAN tactical ballistic missile system from Türkiye, signalling a major step in its defence modernisation drive.

Spotted at Raipur A base in East Kalimantan, the mobile system—developed by Turkish firm Roketsan—is now operational with the 18th Field Artillery Battalion. The KHAN missile extends Indonesia’s strike range to 280 km, bringing high-precision, long-range firepower to the army for the first time.
Mounted on a Tatra 8×8 vehicle, KHAN offers rapid deployment, GPS/GLONASS-guided targeting, and the ability to hit high-value strategic targets. The system is already in service with Turkish forces and now strengthens Indonesia’s regional deterrence posture.
This delivery follows a 2022 deal between Indonesia and Türkiye, reflecting deepening defence ties and Jakarta’s focus on mobility, reach, and survivability in a shifting Indo-Pacific security environment.
