The Chief of the South African Army, Lieutenant General Lawrence Khulekani Mbatha, presided over a highly successful Stabling Parade at the Combat Training Centre in Lohatlha, Northern Cape – a proud display of discipline, precision and combat readiness by the men and women of the SA Army. The event marked a significant milestone in confirming the Army’s full preparedness for the upcoming Exercise VUKUHLOME, a large-scale military exercise designed to test operational capability, sharpen joint force integration, enhance combat effectiveness and provide course support to the Army’s most senior leadership programme.

In his address, Lieutenant General Mbatha commended the troops and their commanders for their professionalism, resilience and dedication. He emphasized that the Stabling Parade not only demonstrates ceremonial excellence but also underscores the Army’s readiness to serve and defend the nation.
Exercise VUKUHLOME will highlight the SA Army’s ability to prepare, mobilize, rapidly deploy and operate under realistic combat conditions – reaffirming its commitment to safeguarding South Africa’s sovereignty and contributing to regional peace and security.
The Stabling Parade remains a powerful symbol of the Army’s heritage, unity and determination to live up to the exercise motto: “Vuk’Uhlome – Arise and Arm Yourselves.”
